After looking for a sturdy and small USB stick for a while, I think this is what I’m going to get. It’s tiny, shock and waterproof, and also pretty cheap.
The idea is to put all the really essential stuff (like scans of the most important documents) onto it. 8-16GB are plenty for that and with TrueCrypt I don’t even have to worry about losing it.
